The Romance Reviews

Covid has kept me home and writing. I’ve moved to New York City for a book set in 1853 that features the Exhibition of the Industry of All Nations, the first World’s Fair in New York.  My heroine manages to escape the villainous man her father has chosen for her with the help of an adventurous (and handsome) hero.

I’m also working on a book set in New York City in 1880 featuring the proprietress of a chocolate shop. Here’s a little insight on the problems a historical writer faces. I had to move the book to 1880 so my widowed heroine could have gas refrigeration to chill her chocolates. The hero is a dilettante whose father thinks it is time for him to cease his easy life, get to work and get married. I’m still working out the details, but we all know how it will end.
